Pro Series Controllers

The Vortek Pro Series controller is recommended for applications where motorized rigging and management of multiple line sets are required. The system may include many (if not all) line sets over stage with fast-moving battens where precision cueing capability is needed for complex movements of multiple line sets.

Partnered with the Vortek Automation Center (VAC®), each Vortek hoist can synchronize and handle the most sophisticated cueing, lift sequences and scenery movements at the touch of a button.

The VAC system gives sophisticated performance capability to every small theatre. The simulation program (V-Sim) on Project Central contains a demonstration of the system.

The VAC has an array of existing mounting and mobility options. Multiple VAC controllers can be installed and networked around the stage area, giving operators the convenience to manage line sets from different vantage points. For added redundancy, facilities can have a laptop configured as a back-up to the main system controls.

The optional rolling cart has convenient portability and its motorized hight adjustment allows all users (wheelchair bound to standing) to operate the system comfortably.

Manage line set movements from the best vantage point at any time during the show from the wired handheld VAC controller. Cable lengths for the wired remote and the rolling cart options should be discussed with a Vortek representative when designing the facility.

VAC Features

Full automation
Intuitive touch screens and menus show the entire field of battens, load profile, select battens, set limits, and create cues and groups. Joysticks and keyboard are included for additional control of up to 250 variable speed hoists.

On-screen diagnostics
Continuously updated diagnostics monitor every aspect of automation and drivetrain systems and record and store actual lifetime run cycles.

  Cueing Screen

i-VP Curtain System
Control motorized curtain movements right on the VAC screen. Build complex movements into cues.

Load sensing and load profiling
Load sensing devices on every Vortek batten (called the i-Batten) can immediately report an underload or overload condition to the controller and onscreen to the operator.
